How to put a vCard QR code on your business card
- Fill in your details. Only what you want to share: every extra field makes the code denser.
- Download the SVG for your designer or print software, or a PNG for documents.
- Test it. Scan it with a phone before printing the cards.
No subscription, no middleman
Many digital business card services put a link in the code that leads to a page they host. If you stop paying, the code can stop working. This code holds the contact itself, in the vCard format phones already understand.
Size on a printed card
A code with a name, phone and email usually fits well at about 25 mm. Choose error correction L to keep it simple, keep the white margin, and always test a printed sample.
Known limits
- No photos or social network fields: only the fields shown here.
- Long addresses and notes produce dense codes that are harder to scan.
- Details cannot be changed after printing.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. It is 100% free, with no usage limits, no account, no sign-up, no watermark and no paid plan.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Your contact details are processed inside your browser and never leave your device. The page only downloads its own code from this site. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics receives anonymous usage data such as page views, never your files, their names or the contents of your codes.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static: the content is stored in the pattern itself, with no redirect through any service. They keep working for as long as the content inside them is valid.
Does scanning need an internet connection?
No. All the details are inside the code, so a phone can offer to save the contact with no connection and without visiting any web page.
Can I add a photo?
No. A QR code holds too little data for a useful photo. Many “vCard” services add one by hosting your details on their own site, usually with a subscription.
Why is my code so dense?
Every field adds data. For small business cards, fill in only the essentials and choose error correction L. Print at 25 mm or more, and test it with a phone.
Which phones can read it?
The cameras on current iPhone and most Android phones recognise vCard QR codes. Some older phones need a QR reader app.
Can I change my details after printing?
No. The details are in the code itself, so a change needs a new code. That is also why it cannot expire or be disabled.
Analytics: only if you accept cookies, the page loads Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to count visits and see which tools are used. It never receives your files, your text or the contents of your codes. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
