Free barcode generator, one by one or in bulk

Paste one value or a whole list and download sharp barcodes in PNG or SVG. Check digits are calculated and verified for you.

How to create barcodes

  1. Choose the type. The hint under it says what each one accepts.
  2. Type or paste your values, one per line. Each is checked as you type.
  3. Download: one barcode as a single file, or several in a ZIP named after their values.

Why validate first

A single wrong digit in an EAN code can mean a whole print run that does not scan. Wrong lengths and check digits are caught here before you download anything.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. It is 100% free, with no usage limits, no account, no sign-up, no watermark and no paid plan.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The values you type are processed inside your browser and never leave your device. The page only downloads its own code from this site. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics receives anonymous usage data such as page views, never your files, their names or the contents of your codes.

Which barcode type should I use?

Code 128 for your own stock, shipping and internal labels. EAN-13 or UPC-A for retail products. Code 39 when older equipment requires it. ITF-14 for outer cartons.

Will these barcodes get my product into shops?

The image is valid, but retail normally requires an official number assigned to your company by GS1. Generating a barcode does not register the number. For internal use, you can use any value.

How do I make many barcodes at once?

Paste one value per line. Each one is checked, invalid lines are listed with the reason, and you download everything in one ZIP.

What is a check digit?

The final digit of EAN, UPC and ITF-14 codes, calculated from the others so scanners can detect reading errors. Leave it out and it is added; include it and it is verified.

What size should I print?

Print the SVG, or a PNG with a larger bar width, without stretching it, and keep the white space at both sides. Test with your scanner before printing a batch.

Analytics: only if you accept cookies, the page loads Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to count visits and see which tools are used. It never receives your files, your text or the contents of your codes. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
